vijay Vijay Tella, CEO
Vijay has led the product strategy and strategic partnerships to ensure the best possible Qik experience and large scale consumer distribution. Prior to Qik, Vijay was the Chief Strategy Officer for Oracle Fusion Middleware. Vijay helped grow the Middleware division from $220M to $2.6B in revenue in five years. Prior to Oracle, Vijay was a part of the founding team at Tibco Software. As SVP of Engineering at Tibco, over seven years, he helped the company become the leading provider of middleware products and technologies. During his tenure at Tibco, Tibco had a successful IPO and grew to more than $400M in annual sales. Vijay has over twenty years of experience in innovating and delivering market-leading products in the real time messaging and communications space. Vijay has an MS in computer science from UCLA, where he received the Outstanding MS Graduate award from the School of Engineering and a bachelor's degree in computer science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai, India.
nikolay Nikolay Abkairov, Co-founder & CTO
As the CTO, Nikolay leads the technology strategy, architecture, and implementation of the Qik service. He has an MS in computer science from the Moscow Institute of Electronics and Engineering and has been programming since age 13. He brings to Qik over a decade of experience developing media streaming products on embedded devices. Prior to Qik, Nikolay was the Technical Division Director of SPIRIT DSP where he worked closely with companies like Oracle, Microsoft, Adobe, TI, HTC, and Skype to integrate state-of-the-art VoIP solutions.
ramu Ramu Sunkara, Co-founder & EVP Technology & Operations
Ramu's 19 years of innovation experience led to his involvement as co-founder of Qik. In his career, he has successfully brought several groundbreaking technologies to market: Ramu developed the first relational database; built the first database grid computing solutions using PCs (now a $2B division for Oracle), and led the innovation of browser-based CRM applications, real-time communications, and mobile messaging service. Live video sharing from mobile phones via Qik is the latest of these. Prior to Qik, Ramu was the VP of Oracle's Real-Time Collaboration Products and a member of the Oracle Architecture Review Board. He has formed high-performing, balanced teams to take new product ideas from inception to $500M+ of annual revenues. Ramu has an MBA from Boston University, an MS from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a bachelor's degree of technology from the Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai, India.
bhaskar Bhaskar Roy, Co-founder & VP Product Marketing
Bhaskar is focused on the product evolution and on marketing, positioning Qik to thrive in the mainstream market. He has 15 years of experience developing and taking innovative products to market. Prior to Qik, Bhaskar was Director of Product Marketing for SMB Products, Real-Time Communications and Mobile Messaging at Oracle. Bhaskar also led channel marketing at PlaceWare, now Live Meeting after acquisition by Microsoft, where he managed strategic relationships with telcos and ISVs. Bhaskar has a BS in Computer Science and an MBA from the University of Phoenix.
Almoko Alex Motrenko, RU Director of Operations
Alex heads Qik's operations in Russia, ensuring that we hire the best talent and support Qik users and partners in Europe and Asia. Prior to Qik, Alex was a sales executive for 3 years with Luxoft and for five years at SPIRIT DSP, where he consistently exceeded targets and customer expectations. Alex has an MIEE from Moscow Institute of Electronics and Engineering and bachelor's degree in economics and marketing.
