Qik – now a featured application on Ning!

We’re excited today to unveil Qik for Ning, the social platform for interests and passions online. By joining forces with Ning, Qik is now available to more than 1.5 million Ning Networks and 33 million Ning Network members.

Ning Network Creators now have even greater choice over the features and applications they can add to Ning Networks to create the perfect social experience for a given topic, interest or passion. Today, Ning Apps are available for e-commerce, information, education, causes and entertainment. To see Qik, please visit the Ning Apps Directory here.

What does this mean for Qik users? Now you can stream live to your Ning Network with unprecedented ease.

Ning Apps extend the Ning Platform by providing more than 90 new diverse and rich applications like Qik for Ning Network Creators. With Ning Apps, a Ning Network Creator can now add Qik to expand the functionality of their Ning Network and increase engagement by their members.

We’re excited to be developing Qik for the Ning Platform, and the functionality this offers to Qik users and Ning Network members. This is just the beginning, though – we’re excited to see where users take this functionality, and we plan to add even more capabilities to this integration.

This is just the latest way that Qik allows you to share your videos with those who matter to you – whether it’s friends, family, or people with a common interest on a Ning Network.

The Ning Platform provides a new way for Qik to reach more people, faster. Rather than being added by individual members, when a Ning Network Creator adds Qik to their Ning Network, by default it’s available to all members automatically, regardless of whether a Ning Network has 100, 1,000 or 1 million members.

“Ning is committed to being the social platform for the world’s interests and passions,” said Jay Parikh, senior vice president of product engineering. “Qik is a great example of the innovative and creative set of diverse features Ning Apps offer the more than 33 million members of Ning Networks today.”

Hello. I have a Ning sight and I've attempted to add the Qik App but not able to get it to work. I am able to Add the Application but instructions say to enter user id & password but there are no “input” fields to enter user id & password. My site is:

    http://www.TheCommunicationPlace.ning.com

  2. in principle the idea is interesting

It fails to update the latest activity on Ning. Why ? Even if I check the box

There is no way to change the Qik channel once you enter your Qik login and password. If two users enter the same login and password, the videos shows up twice in the list.
