We have been receiving a number of requests on integrate Qik into various applications – web, desktop and mobile. Based on this interest, we have been working on developing a Push platform that is able to push real-time data to any application, on any device. This Push platform comes with a set of Push APIs that enable application developers to integrate real-time data around Qik videos into their applications.
Qik Push APIs are light-weight, transport-neutral APIs that enable web, desktop and phone applications to subscribe to various categories of information and get pushed with real-time data whenever there’s new information available about it. Say for example you have Twitter, Facebook application and would like to be informed whenever there are new videos that go live on Qik (view example), get notified when there’s a new video from people you follow (view example), you would like to be informed whenever a specific Qik user goes live (view example).
These APIs are currently in private beta and can be previewed at http://qikapi.pbwiki.com.
If you are interested in participating in this private beta, you can request your API key by sending an email to api@qik.com. You can also subscribe to our Developer email list at api.subscribe@qik.com
Hi get news. I ask for this ages ago and never thought I would see it start to be implemented. I have always used qik to enjoy the new vids people stream. Its alway a shock when you message them as they are sat personal testing Qik for the first time. It would be good to see how this api developes. I would like to see something like the video wall you can plugin to Firefox.
Many thanks QIK
