So without this being on the iTunes APP store.... is there a way to install this app without Jailbreaking the iPhone?

Maybe Qik should have a sit down with Kevin Rose, he stirred it up...getting everyone excited. Of course, if Qik doesn't want it out, they shouldn't release it to him. None the less I would love to see it in the app store soon!

Thanks for the update, but with all due respect, that's not much of a clarification. I understand there might be NDAs involved currently, and you might have to tread lightly with Apple at the moment - but if that's the case, please say so. Also, if Kevin

... If Kevin Rose spoke out of turn, please say so. And if there's been no substantive change since the last "we're not in the App Store" post, please say so. Calling this a clarification and not actually clarifying anything just adds to the rumours.

Jurgen - We have yet to submit this to App Store. This is all the information I can give at present.

The reason it will never be in the app store. (which is both a shame and for good reason) is Apple, does not provide API access to the iPhone as a video camera. It's really not Qik, they have nothing to do with it. Although, they could just be honest and

Although, Qik could just be honest and give the real reason. Apple, with so many tricks up their sleeve is likely blocking this functionality so they can release their own version. Which I have heard will be iPhone to iPhone. That is the real reason it wi

That is the real reason it will never be in the appstore. For legal reasons, Apple doesn't allow applications that work outside their API and which techni

Technically violate all terms of use. Which is as well for AT&T.

If this comes out I bet it will (sadly) be WiFi only... AT&T would be pissed if people were sending that much data over 3G or EDGE.

I cannot understand why you would make an announcement of product availability when you cannot download it- doesn't make much sense. Even more frustrating is that I am now a BlackBerry user ( annoying company upgrade) and now I cannot even use QIK as its

Jonas: We did not announce any product availability; this was a story that originated elsewhere and was picked up across the press and blogosphere.

Qik has had an iPhone application for modified (jailbroken) phones since June, but we have never made any announcement with regard to App Store availability. The truth, as noted by Bhaskar above, is that Qik has not submitted anything to the App Store.
