Hot on the heels of last week's update, we are thrilled to announce the latest release of Qik for the iPhone, extending Qik's leadership in this new market and featuring:

  1. dramatically enhanced quality in high-resolution mode (320*240, 7-10 FPS)
  2. optional location support shows your video location on a map right on the video page
  3. increased network reliability, even over poor networking conditions

Ya know, it would be nice if, in some upcoming release, you can title your broadcast before pressing record so that when it twitters the notification everywhere, the subject matter is known. - Steve Bostedor

You're in luck: that's in this release as well :). Click the Qik logo on the bottom left before you start recording, and you can set things like title and privacy.

I don't see it. I see the General section containing the "About" and "User Profile" and the Video section containing "Resolution" and "Optimization". There's nothing else there. Speaking of version 0.3.16 build date 8/29/2008

@Michael Great, just what I've been after as well, saves having to go back and edit the title of the video too. Just upgrading now, iPhone went back to the Apple logo when i hit install :S

Alow me to be the first whiner (in this thread) to bemoan the lack of app store support for Qik. Until then, I'll have to keep using the N95 for Qikking. Would love to use the iPhone, but can't justify voiding the warranty by jailbreaking it.

are you going to release this through the appstore or is the only way to use quick to jailbreak your phone? would love it if i could use it w.out jailbreaking! J

I'm really bummed! I guess I should have read this blog before I purchased my iphone 3G. I'm not risking a jailbreak so won't be quikking anymore.
