I was glued with my friends watching and interacting with Erica O’Grady and Congressman John Culberson and a bunch of twitterers while experiencing Mars Landing on Qik – a phenomenal scientific achievement.

This one’s sure goes into the Qik history book. Below is one of the Qik from this great event. More at qik.com/johnculberson.

Cannes Film Festival is in full swing and thanks to Variety’s Anne Thompson we have some amazing Qiks. This morning I pretty much fell off my couch when I saw Steven Spielberg, Harrison Ford and Karen Allen show up on Qik.

Karen Allen shares how the festival has changed over the past decade, while Morgan Spurlock finds his first visit to Cannes “overwhelming”. More footage from Cannes can be found at qik.com/variety.

Michael Moore, live from Cannes, on Qik

Friday, May 16th, 2008

Variety deputy editor Anne Thompson is a veteran of the annual Cannes Film Festival press circuit. This year, she’s taken Qik with her and is getting lots of great footage.

Below, Anne talks to controversial filmmaker Michael Moore about his next film, which is being billed as a sequel to Fahrenheit 9/11. Whether you’re a Moore fan or detractor, there are some interesting quotes from him on why his Iraq war film succeeded while others have been box office duds, and who else he ranks with himself as a brave defender of truth. Check it out, and follow Anne’s Cannes coverage from Variety‘s Qik page.
